Acceptable Protest Behavior for Grassroots Pueblo
The goal of the protests with Grassroots Pueblo, and our constitutional right, is to peacefully protest. While remaining peaceful, we can focus on our message. Please avoid any engagement with agitators, including verbal and physical altercations of ANY type. The agitator’s goal is to escalate problems. Therefore, we shall not respond to their antics, instead make the protest louder and more focused. We cannot change the counter groups’ responses, but we will voice to the community that we support a decent, moral, and law-abiding government.

-Popup Protests-
- Friday, March 20th – 1:30 pm: We are joining Pueblo West Indivisible outside Senator Bennet’s office in the Riverwalk district (129 W B St) across from the old Pueblo Union Depot train station. We have been coordinating with Senator Bennet’s office who endorses this supportive action event: “Hold the Line”. There will be significant press attending and a huge crowd is needed! Small to medium signs are okay with themes like No Mullins Approval!, Reform Now!, or ICE Must Be Stopped NOW!! Senator Bennet supports our pressure campaign on Republican senate constituents!! We know ICE will be sent to interfere with the vote! HOLD THE LINE!
- Join us on Wednesdays at the Pueblo County Democratic Headquarters to make signs and large banners for our next No Kings protest. Bring a large sign board or cardboard and we will supply paint and markers. We’ll be there between 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm on Feburary 25th, March 4th, March 11th, March 18th, and March 25th.
- Thursday, March 26th – 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm — We’re asking people to sign up for a shift to stay with our overpass banner on the Mesa overpass (by Gus’ Tavern). To sign up, text Val.
- FINAL(?) UPDATE on the NO KINGS PROTEST! — Saturday, March 28th. The NO Kings protest will start at Rawlings Library at 2:00 pm and the group will march down Union to Sister Cities Plaza. We also need a group of 25 people at 1:00 pm to stay with Val in front of the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center and hold a large premade NO Kings sign. This group will then go to Sister Cities Plaza to join the larger group as they arrive from the march down Union. Text Val to let her know whether you’ll be at the Arts Center at 1:00 pm or at Rawlings Library at 2:00 pm.
On the Saturdays below, we will be sign and flag protesting at the corner of 4th and Abriendo, by Walgreens.
Our food and pet food donation drive continues every week at our Saturday protests. This allows us to help the people and pet friends in our community who are struggling right now. We really appreciate your donation.
