From Val: UPDATES for Aug 15 protest outside old prison as CoreCivic plans to reopen it as an ICE Detention Center! It will be the first reopening of a facility for ICE in Colorado! We’re getting a wide statewide response from other action groups & nonprofits! Signs pertinent to ICE, Blocking detention centers or A Nation of immigrants theme is needed.
Try to carpool & use parking lot towards the back of property. We’ll gather at front of facility where people with signs will guide you. Media will be there for coverage. Then we’ll march out 2 blocks to 2 grassy knolls overlooking the Interstate to continue our sign protests! Government officials have been invited but uncertain if they will pop by!
